Personal Information Protection

Since January 1st, 2004, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act is designed to protect Canadians in terms of personal information that is collected, used or disclosed by a private sector organization.

Personal information (any piece of information concerning a recognizable individual, with the exception of an employee’s name and title within an organization and his/her address and phone number at his/her workplace) must be protected by means of security measures corresponding to their degree of sensitivity.

To this effect, our Association is committed to protect your personal information delivered by e-mail or through our web site. We make sure that they are neither consulted, nor used, nor disclosed to a third party without your consent.

Gathered information normally refer to personal information required to access a private field, complete an information sheet, participate in a contest, subscribe to an electronic newsletter, buy and\or register a product or a service from the Association.

Release of personal information

In order to provide selected services (delivery, issue of regular mail or electronic mail, contest...), our Association may call on third parties’ services. Only the information required for the fulfillment of these tasks will be released to such parties and they will not be allowed to use such information for other purposes.

The only exception for which the Association will release your personal information without prior notice will be if it is required by the law or duly authorized police forces.

Navigation Statistics

When you visit a web site, the server registers your IP address and identifies your location, the links which led you to the site, your browser, pages viewed, downloaded files, time spent on the site, etc. All access information is stored in a log file.

Such data are being stored in order for us to analyze the information on the site and thus maintain and improve its quality and efficiency: performance, downloaded files, pages viewed, etc. Under no circumstances collected data will be used for the purposes of unwanted fund-raising campaigns.

"Cookies"
This web site can send "cookies" on your computer to facilitate your access during your next visit. "Cookies" are intended to hold:

  • Data entered on various forms, search bars and/or forums, for a quick input process.
  • Your preferences in terms of page layout (font size, colours ….).
